Challenge
The US electric grid is the world’s largest single integrated machine. But the grid itself was designed more than 100 years ago to meet the technological needs of that era. Today’s stakeholders are faced with the daunting task of managing the technological revolution underway as cost-effectively as possible while also working to protect our fragile environment.  Eventive was tasked with bringing key industry stakeholders, including Govt regulators and legislators, utilities and start-ups, together for a collaborative, informative event fueling innovation within the electrification space.

Solution
The inaugural, invitation-only, IllumiNation Energy Summit was held in Columbus, Ohio on May 15-16, 2019 seeking to drive education and dialogue, among a diverse collection of attendees, around the future of energy.

Execution
To achieve this goal, we built an experience to immerse attendees in the energy of tomorrow. This was achieved through a three-pronged journey for attendees:

  1. Innovation Exploratory
The centerpiece of the IllumiNation Energy Summit was an expansive and interactive area focused on advances in energy technology. This immersive environment included hands-on learning and demonstrations from a diverse range of partners and attendees were provided the opportunity to explore the space individually or on curated tours led by presenting sponsor tour guides.
  2. Panels
Panels at the IllumiNation Energy Summit were designed to inform and inspire participants by exploring how energy-related technologies can impact people in the future. Panel topics included:
  3. Gateway to Energy Empowerment for Customers:
    Connected Homes and Businesses
  • Electric Mobility: Safely and Efficiently Transporting People and Products
  • Grid Innovation: Deploying Advanced Solutions for the Electric System of the Future
  • Creating Economic Opportunities through Energy Collaboration
  • Tech Tables/Networking Opportunities: Areas of the conference space were specifically designed to welcome one-on-one discussions and networking. Additional products and services were showcased on the mezzanine level to foster discussion during breaks and with ample casual seating areas to foster relaxed conversation.
